The Fan Unit provides active cooling for the Uptime Industries Compute Blade platform. The Compute Blades were designed for 24/7 operation. For high loads, it is advisable to add active (forced) ventilation. Advanced computing requires advanced cooling!
An effective cooling solution can make the difference between your CM4 overheating and throttling or maintaining stable, reliable performance.
The Fan Units are designed to seamlessly work with up to two Compute Blades, offering a comprehensive cooling solution even in tightly packed rack spaces. They are easy to install and fully compatible with the Uptime Industries Compute Blade platform.
Versions
The Fan Unit is available in two versions:
- Smart Fan Unit: This version provides numerous features and flexibility to customize the operating logic. It includes an additional Raspberry Pi RP2040 to expand the system with extra sensors and control options. The Smart Fan Unit is powered directly by the Compute Blade, requiring no additional wiring.
- STA Fan Unit: A simpler version focused on PWM control and reliable cooling. This version is also powered directly by the Compute Blade.
