Love FLORA but want a bite-sized version? Look no further, GEMMA is a tiny wearable platform board with a lot of might in a 1" diameter package. Powered by a Attiny85 and programmable with an Arduino IDE over USB, you'll be able to realize any wearable project!
We wanted to design a microcontroller board that was small enough to fit into any project, and low cost enough to use without hesitation. Perfect for when you don't want to give up your Flora and you aren't willing to take apart the project you worked so hard to design. it's our lowest-cost sewable controller!
The Attiny85 is a fun processor because despite being so small, it has 8K of flash, and 5 I/O pins, including analog inputs and PWM 'analog' outputs. We designed a USB bootloader so you can plug it into any computer and reprogram it over a USB port just like an Arduino (it uses 2 of the 5 I/O pins, leaving you with 3). In fact we even made some simple modifications to the Arduino IDE so that it works like a mini-Flora. Perfect for small amp; simple projects the GEMMA will be your go-to wearable electronics platform.
Even though you can program GEMMA using the Arduino IDE, it's not a fully 100% Arduino-compatible. There are some things you trade off for such a small and low cost microcontroller!
GEMMA does not have a Serial port connection for debugging so the serial port monitor will not be able to send/receive data
Some computers' USB v3 ports don't recognize the GEMMAs bootloader. Simply use a USB v2 port or a USB hub in between
Trinket is not supported on Linux operating system at this time - try Mac OS or Windows!
Super small, only 1.1" / 28mm diameter and 0.28" / 7mm thick.
Easy-to-sew or solder pads for embedding in your wearable project
Low cost enough, you can use one for every weekend project
ATtiny85 on-board, 8K of flash, 512 byte of SRAM, 512 bytes of EEPROM
Internal oscillator runs at 8MHz
Ultra low power, draws only 9 mA while running
USB bootloader with a nice LED indicator looks just like a USBtinyISP so you can program it with the Arduino IDE (with a few simple config modifications)
Mini-USB jack for power and/or USB uploading, you can put it in a box or tape it up and use any USB cable for when you want to reprogram.
We really worked hard on the bootloader process to make it rugged and foolproof
~5.25K bytes available for use (2.75K taken for the bootloader)
On-board 3.3V power regulator with 150mA output capabilityand ultra-low dropout. Up to 16V input, reverse-polarity protection, thermal and current-limit protection.
Power with either USB or external output (such as a battery) - it'll automatically switch over
On-board green power LED and red pin #1 LED
Reset button for entering the bootloader or restarting the program.
3 GPIO - The 3 independent IO pins have 1 analog input and 2 PWM output as well.
Hardware I2C capability for breakout amp; sensor interfacing.
Oh so adorable, this is the tiniest little lipo charger, so handy you can keep it any project box! Its also easy to use. Simply plug in the gold plated contacts into any USB port and a 3.7V/4.2V lithium polymer or lithium ion rechargeable battery into the JST plug on the other end. There are two LEDs - one red and one green. While charging, the...
Be the belle of the ball with the NeoPixel Jewel! We fit\'seven of our the tiny 5050 (5mm x 5mm) smart RGB LEDs onto a beautiful, round PCB with mounting holes and a chainable design to create what we think is our most elegant (and evening-wear appropriate) NeoPixel board yet.
This is a cute half size breadboard which has 400 tie-points, is great for small projects. it\'s 2.2" x 3.4" (5.5cm x 8.2cm) with a standard double-strip (300pts) in the middle and two power rails (100pts) on both sides. You can pull the power rails off easily to make the breadboard as thin as 1.4" (3.5cm) and stick it onto your Raspberry Pi. You...
A Feather board without ambition is a Feather board without FeatherWings! This is the NeoPixel FeatherWing, a 4x8 RGB LED Add-on For All Feather Boards ! Using our Feather Stacking Headers or Feather Female Headers you can connect a FeatherWing on top or bottom of your Feather board and make your Feather board strut like a peacock at a rave.
Round and round and round they go! 12 ultra bright smart LED NeoPixels are arranged in a circle with 1.5" (37mm) outer diameter. The rings are \'chainable\' - connect the output pin of one to the input pin of another. Use only one microcontroller pin to control as many as you can chain together! Each LED is addressable as the driver chip is inside...
These are the smallest NeoPixel breakouts around! Tiny, bright RGB pixels to your project. These little PCBs are only 8mm x 10mm and have two sets of three pads on the back for soldering wires. These ultra-bright LEDs have a constant-current driver cooked right into the LED package! The pixels are chainable - so you only need 1 pin/wire to...
This is a coin cell holder for the common CR2032 type battery. The holder has a neat pop-in, pop-out feature that makes changing the battery easy. The feet of the holder have a small hole that allow it to be sewn without modification.
This LilyPad Coin Cell Battery Holder has a small slide switch installed on the board, in-line with the power so you can shut off your project and save batteries. This slide switch is the same as is found on the LilyPad slide switch board, so it\'s not easy to accidentally turn off or on.
This is 30 feet of conductive thread spun from stainless steel fiber and wound on a plastic bobbin. Use it to sew up all of your e-textile projects. This small bobbin is a great way to get into wearable electronics without the upfront cost of buying an entire spool of thread. 30 feet of thread is enough to get a simple design stitched onto your...
This breakout board is the ultimate companion for the VLSI VS1053B DSP codec chip. The VS1053 can decode a wide variety of audio formats such as MP3, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, WMA, MIDI, FLAC, WAV (PCM and ADPCM). It can also be used to record audio in both PCM (WAV) and compressed Ogg Vorbis. You can do all sorts of stuff with the audio as well such as adjusting...
